It’s fairly well established by now that we’re suckers for any video that uses movie clips in a clever way. And this musical mashup does just that!

Created by Matthijs Vlot (who’s web servers have died due to the popularity), this video clip art of famous movie moments embraces the emotions of both the films each clip is pulled from and the crooner of a love song they compose. Quite impressive!

(Warning: You will most definitely catch yourself humming this song at inappropriate times for the rest of the day. Yet another reason why the Internet makes life interesting…)

I’m going to start by sharing that I was living in New York City on 9/11/01 and was one of the many who witnessed the event not on TV, but in person. In fact, I watched the first plane hit from the same view as the Harry Met Sally clip at minute 1:47 of this commemorative movie montage.

That said, on the ten year anniversary of 9/11 which falls this weekend, I am not only going to take a moment to remember the loss of so many lives on that once sunny Fall day. I will also be mourning the destruction of the buildings that completed the iconic New York city skyline.

Like the director of this short film, Dan Meth, I truly miss the Twin Towers. I want to draw them in to pictures of New York rather than erase them. I feel there is reason to celebrate the 33 years the World Trade Center graced the sky with its monstrous height and design. And what better way to do that, then through film.
