Sketch troupe Summer of Tears versus American Gladiators

Some jokes in this are a little bit obvious, but as a former American Gladiator* junky (Saturday afternoons were for staying inside and watching TV, after all), I can’t get enough of this sketch. The early 1990s period details are particularly dead-on.

According to director/co-writer Chris Cantwell, this took five months of post-production. And I believe it, too.

*Yes, I watched NBC’s primetime reboot as well, but it wasn’t quite the same. Also, don’t judge me.
